Pckgr Library
The Pckgr Library is a curated collection of Win32 and macOS applications that are hosted, maintained, and continuously updated by Pckgr. Every application in the library has been tested for functionality and security before being made available for deployment through Intune. The library is regularly expanded based on popularity and customer requests, providing users with a reliable and growing catalog of enterprise-ready software.
There are over 700 applications available in the Pckgr Library. These applications have been added due to popularity and as more customers request applications, the list grows!
Apps which aren't in the Pckgr Library can be added via the request an app feature on the dashboard
Application Support Guidelines at Pckgr
At Pckgr, we offer powerful, flexible tools to package and deploy a wide variety of applications through Microsoft Intune. While we support a broad range of apps via our hosted repository and custom application packaging, there are some application types that are best handled outside of Pckgr due to their unique structures or delivery methods.
This guide outlines how Pckgr supports application deployment and provides helpful context for apps that may fall outside our platform’s packaging processes.
How Pckgr Supports Applications
1. Pckgr Hosted Repository
The majority of supported applications come from our Private hosted repository, which are thoroughly tested, regularly updated, and can be deployed quickly and reliably through Pckgr.
2. Custom Applications Tool
For unique or organization-specific needs, our Custom Applications tool is available. This is ideal for:
Internal company applications.
Licensed applications that require manual downloads.
Apps hosted behind paywalls or login portals.
The Custom Apps tool provides an excellent solution for packaging and deploying software that isn’t typically found in public repositories.
Application Types Outside Pckgr’s Packaging Scope
Some applications are better suited to alternative deployment methods or are inherently not installable via Intune packaging tools. These include:
Web-Based and Microsoft 365 Cloud Applications
Examples: Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project for the Web
Why: These applications are web-based services, not installable packages. They are accessed via a browser or Microsoft 365 platform and are managed through user licensing, not software deployment.
For more detailed guidance on deploying Microsoft 365 Office apps via Intune, please refer to our Microsoft 365 Apps Deployment Blog Post. The message above focuses specifically on web-based Microsoft apps like Planner and Project, which differ from Office desktop installations.
Portable Applications
Examples: Applications that run without installation and do not leave system traces such as registry entries.
Why: These applications can be used directly from executables without creating install markers. Because Pckgr’s update and detection processes rely on system-level installation indicators, portable apps fall outside our current deployment best practices.
