This page explains what a repository is and how Pckgr uses them to offer applications for deployment.

What is a Repository?

A repository is a storage location where applications are kept, managed, and retrieved for deployment. Pckgr uses repositories as the source for installing, updating, and managing applications in Microsoft Intune.

Repositories play a critical role in software deployment by ensuring applications are secure, up-to-date, and easily accessible.

In Pckgr, you can choose Windows or Mac applications for deployment and management:

Repository – Hosted and managed directly by Pckgr for reliability and control for your Windows applications.

Repository – Uses Installomator to deploy Mac applications through Intune.

Prior to May 2025, Pckgr also implemented a hosting service for application management. Since this time, Pckgr has transitioned to offering solely our Premium Private Repository for your application hosting needs. If you joined Pckgr prior to May 2025, you can upgrade your applications to the Private Repository version, following the instructions in our page.
