Microsoft Single Sign On

Using Microsoft SSO with Pckgr

Microsoft SSO allows for a seamless and secure authentication experience. By using Microsoft SSO with Pckgr, you eliminate the need for an additional password, allowing you to use your Microsoft credentials to log in.

Prerequisites

  1. An active Microsoft account.

  2. No prior account in Pckgr using email.

Steps to Use Microsoft SSO with Pckgr

  1. Visit Pckgr Signup Page: Navigate to the signup page on the Pckgr platform.

  2. Choose Microsoft SSO: You'll find an option to "Signup with Microsoft". Click on this option.

  3. Authenticate with Microsoft: You'll be redirected to the Microsoft login page. Provide your Microsoft account credentials to proceed.

  4. Permissions Grant: Grant the necessary permissions for Pckgr to access your Microsoft account information. This is essential for the SSO integration.

  5. Complete Signup: Once authenticated, you'll be redirected back to Pckgr. Complete any additional steps or profile setups as prompted.

  6. Enjoy Single Sign-On: From now on, you can use the "Login with Microsoft SSO" button every time you need to access Pckgr.

Important Considerations

  • Account Linking: You cannot link an existing Pckgr email account to a Microsoft SSO account. They are treated as separate authentication methods.

  • Switching Authentication: If you wish to switch from email-based authentication to Microsoft SSO, you'll need a workaround. The process involves the use of a 'breakglass' account.

Switching to Microsoft SSO from Email Authentication

  1. Create a Breakglass Account: This is a temporary account that you can use for administrative tasks. Ensure that this account has Admin rights on Pckgr.

  2. Log in using Breakglass: Log into Pckgr using the breakglass account.

  3. Delete Your Primary Account: Navigate to the users section, find your primary email-based account, and delete it.

  4. Re-invite Your Primary Account: Still using the breakglass account, invite your primary email to Pckgr again.

  5. Choose Microsoft SSO: While setting up the invited account, choose to signup using Microsoft SSO.

  6. Assign Necessary Rights: Once the primary account is set up with Microsoft SSO, ensure to transfer any necessary rights or configurations from the breakglass account back to your primary account.

  7. (Optional) Remove Breakglass Account: If you no longer require the breakglass account, you can delete it for security reasons.
